EVERYTHING HAS TO BE MADE UP

THE CAPTIVE EFFECT.

Inside ourselves, kept alive as we breathe, a world of the Word and the field of the Image exists.

When humans play with art, be it TO PLAY seriously or playfully, we hope to find delight in spontaneous decision making. This happens all by itself during the application of every brushstroke. In that moment, we speed from the literal into the mystery. We transport to the in-between dimension where our personal truth, sets the rules.

It is possible that art draws our attention, because the experience which art provokes, moves us to BE in the moment. Captive art blurs our polarity awareness. To use different words; when either left …or right brain dominates, this will reflect contrast in actions and thoughts.

Images startle an instant drama, which provokes the Mind. Besides serving as a quick fix, Images also heals. To put it gently, it is as if images acts as a hand railed bridge, helping us to cross confused feelings. The powerfulness of images wakes up. Moreover, when in luck, it does refresh. Who can argue our love, as part of daily life, for the stream of images as it pours forth from our TV sets?

Dogma, the ruler of society, on the other hand, makes use of Words. To be in power, this has to be the case. Its carries the collective consciousness with its strength of rules and paradigm. Beta waves will be the flow for wakeful activities within the linear reality.

Practical needs usually do not welcome the misty rights and provocation of images, since it distracts and slows things down. Dogmatic religion frowns at images. The fear of 'a jealous God' gave artists a bad name.

(Despite this, but that is another story altogether, Images did find its way into India's colourful and vibrant religious designs. )
